GW150914 Binary black-hole merger

Replay the GW150914 detector data, compare processing choices, and keep a reproducible report. No wallet required.

H1 + L1 · 32 seconds · 4,096 Hz

One signal. Two ways to see it.

Change the frequency band and compare the same signal on identical axes.

How to explore this signal
  1. Listen and inspect. Start with the recorded H1 and L1 traces. Switch to raw strain, time–frequency, or lag to examine the same data.
  2. Change one setting. Run another frequency band and compare both results on the same scale. A stronger correlation is not a new detection.
  3. Keep it reproducible. Download your JSON report, import it, then reproduce it. Wallet signatures and chain receipts are optional.

Mass, distance, and sky views are published reference results. Filter changes do not recompute them.

Alignment is a waveform diagnostic around a known event. It is not an independent detection, a significance estimate, or a sky-position measurement.

Run archive

Completed runs save automatically on this browser, up to 20. Reopening one recalculates it. Back up your runs before clearing browser data or moving to another device.

No saved runs

Your first verified run will appear here.

A settings link reruns the calculation. It does not publish your report or wallet receipt.

Analysis receipt

Keep JSON for reproduction or HTML for reading. You can also sign the report or record its digest on Base.

Current report · SHA-256
Run the analysis to create a report.
Wallet receipt · optionalNo signature attached
A message signature does not send a transaction.
Record this digest on-chain

Writes only the report digest in a zero-value transaction to your own plain wallet address. Network gas still applies. No contract deployment is needed.

Testnet selected · requires test ETH for gas.

No transaction submitted
Recover an existing transaction

Restore a lost or replaced receipt using its transaction hash. Choose its network above. The transaction must already be included and commit to this report.

Verify a report

Check its content digest and wallet signature, then rerun the same inputs. No wallet is needed for verification.

What does the blockchain add?

The transaction records a wallet’s commitment to this exact report digest in a specific block. A later edit produces a different digest. The JSON carries the actual results; anyone can rerun them here. Neither a signature nor a transaction establishes scientific correctness.

MERIDIAN community

Data

GWOSC GWTC-1 release: 32 seconds of H1 and L1 strain at 4,096 Hz. File hashes are checked before each session’s first analysis.

Processing

Off-source Welch noise estimate, optional whitening, tapered frequency filter, optional line suppression. Each trace uses a fixed off-source RMS normalization.

Interpretation

Published posteriors and sky maps provide source context. The browser replay measures waveform diagnostics around an already known event; it does not reproduce the full Bayesian inference.
